Why is A-grade teak better for a sofa frame than B-grade?

A-grade teak is cut from the "heartwood" of the tree, where the natural rubber and oil content is highest.This provides the Tasman sofa with superior resistance to rot and sun-splitting, which is critical for the structural joints of a large-format lounge chair.

Will the deep seat cushions slide forward off the teak base?

The cushions are designed with a specific weight and a high-friction underside fabric that "bites" into the teak slats. This ensures the cushions stay firmly in place during lounging without the need for unsightly ties or velcro.

Does the teak frame require a "sealer" to prevent watermarks?

A-grade teak is naturally water-repellent. While it doesn't require a sealer for protection, applying a "Teak Shield" will help prevent marks from drinks or food spills from soaking into the grain, keeping the wood looking pristine for longer.

Is the 88cm width wide enough for "curled up" lounging?
