Will the crossed-back teak design trap water and cause rot?

No. The A-Grade teak used in the Tasman is naturally rich in oils that repel water. The joints are precision-milled to ensure tight fits, and the natural gaps in the crossed-back design actually promote airflow, helping the wood dry quickly after rain.

Does the teak frame require sanding before applying a protector?

If the table is brand new, no sanding is required. If the wood has already started to weather to grey, a light sand with fine-grit paper will open the pores and remove the oxidation, allowing the Teak Protector to bond effectively and restore the colour.

Is the sofa heavy enough to stay put on an exposed coastal deck?

Yes. Solid A-Grade teak is a dense, heavy hardwood. Unlike lightweight aluminium, the Tasman Double Sofa has significant natural ballast, making it an exceptional choice for high-wind areas where lighter furniture might shift.

How do the cushions stay secure against the wooden frame?

The cushions are designed with a tailored fit that sits snugly within the teak perimeter. The weight of the Sunbrella fabric and the density of the foam provide enough friction to keep the cushions in place without the need for ties.
