Frequently Asked Questions

What is the primary benefit of Sunbrella 303 Fabric Guard?

This product is designed to restore the factory-spec water repellency of your outdoor fabrics. Over time, exposure to the elements can diminish this coating. 303 Fabric Guard makes water "bead up" and roll off again, protecting the underlying weave.

Is it safe to use on non-Sunbrella fabrics?

Yes. While it is the only product recommended by Sunbrella, it is safe and highly effective on all synthetic and natural outdoor textiles, including polyester, canvas, and various acrylic blends.

How do I know when it’s time to re-apply the guard?

We recommend a simple "splash test" once a season. Pour a small amount of water on your cushions. If it soaks in immediately rather than beading on the surface, it is time to clean the fabric and apply a fresh coat of Fabric Guard.

What is the correct way to apply the spray?

Ensure the fabric is thoroughly clean and 100% dry. In a well-ventilated area, spray the guard evenly until the surface is damp. Allow it to cure in the sun or a warm area for several hours before using the furniture again.
