Frequently Asked Questions

How does the "Stix" design protect the flame from cross-winds?

The interlaced stainless steel rods act as a natural windbreak, diffusing air as it passes through the structure. This helps stabilize the bioethanol flame, ensuring it remains consistent and upright even when positioned in breezy outdoor areas or garden alcoves.

Will the stainless steel rods discolour from the heat over time?

The Stix is manufactured from high-grade 304 stainless steel or powder-coated steel. In the stainless version, the metal may develop a slight "straw" or "blue" tint near the burner over time due to thermal oxidation. This is a natural characteristic of high-quality steel and does not affect structural integrity.

Can I place the Stix directly on a timber deck without a heat mat?

Yes. Because bioethanol burns cleanly and the Stix is elevated by its structural rods, very little heat is transferred to the ground. The base remains cool enough to be safe for use on timber decking, composite boards, or even outdoor rugs without the risk of scorching.

Does the fire pit require a cover if left outdoors?

While the materials are weather-resistant, we recommend using the included all-weather cover when the unit is cool. This prevents rainwater from entering the burner tank and stops leaves or debris from collecting in the rods, ensuring the unit is ready for immediate ignition.
