Frequently Asked Questions

Will the "marine-grade" rope rot or grow mould over time?

No. The rope used in the Stitch 125 is a high-performance synthetic designed for the marine industry. It is non-absorbent and UV-stabilised, meaning it will not rot, fray, or develop mould even when constantly exposed to wet soil and sun.

Does the large 121 cm width require a reinforced deck?

Once fully planted with soil and a large tree, this pot can weigh several hundred kilograms. We recommend consulting a builder if you plan to place it on a timber deck to ensure the joists can handle the concentrated point-load.

Is the pot seamless or does it have a visible join?

The pot is manufactured using a rotational moulding process, which creates a single, seamless piece of polyethylene. This removes the "weak points" found in joined pots, ensuring it can handle the internal pressure of growing root systems.

How do I clean the "Stitch" rope detail if it gets muddy?

The rope is very durable. You can clean it using a soft brush and a mild detergent or a specialized fabric cleaner. For stubborn dirt, the rope is resistant enough to handle a light scrubbing without damaging the fibres.
