Frequently Asked Questions

Is the HPL tabletop resistant to wine and grease stains?

Yes. High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) is a non-porous material used frequently in laboratory and commercial settings for its extreme resistance to chemicals and oils. Red wine, oils, and acidic food spills can be wiped away with no permanent staining or ghosting on the surface.

Will the tabletop get too hot to touch in the summer sun?

HPL has lower thermal conductivity than metal or glass. While it will warm up in direct sunlight, it does not reach the scorching temperatures of an aluminium tabletop, making it a more comfortable surface for resting arms during an outdoor lunch.

Does the table require "pot feet" or coasters for hot plates?

While HPL is heat-resistant up to certain temperatures, we recommend using coasters for very hot roasting dishes or pans straight from the stove. This prevents any localized thermal shock and ensures the laminate bond remains perfect for the life of the table.

Is the 1.2 m size suitable for four people to dine comfortably?

The 1.2 m length is perfect for a compact 4-seater configuration (two on each side). It provides enough space for individual place settings, though a central "lazy susan" or large serving platters may require a bit of creative spacing compared to a 1.8m table.
