How does the Lead Chine fabric perform in high-pollution or dusty areas?

Lead Chine is a heathered, multi-tonal weave that is specifically designed to mask environmental dust and light organic debris. Because the colour is solution-dyed into the acrylic fibres, it resists the "greying" look often seen in solid light-coloured umbrellas in urban or coastal environments.

Does the 45kph wind rating apply when the umbrella is tilted?

No. The maximum wind rating is tested in the horizontal position. When tilted, the canopy acts like a sail and exerts significantly more leverage on the mast. We recommend returning the umbrella to the flat position or closing it when wind speeds increase to ensure structural safety.

Will the granite base wheels work on a sloped patio?

The 90kg to 120kg granite base is equipped with locking castors designed to prevent movement on flat surfaces. On a noticeable slope, the locks may not be sufficient to counteract gravity. For sloped areas, we recommend a fixed mounting option like an In-Ground Anchor or Surface Plate.

Is the umbrella mast resistant to "pitting" in beachfront locations?

Yes. The Malibu features an anodised or high-spec powder-coated aluminium mast that is specifically selected for its resistance to salt-air corrosion. Unlike steel or low-grade aluminium, it will not develop the surface pitting or bubbling common in coastal NZ climates.
