Frequently Asked Questions

Can the Madrid 300 be used for plants with aggressive root systems?

While the 40cm width is petite, the high-density polyethylene walls are incredibly strong and flexible. The planter will slightly expand rather than crack if roots become crowded, though we recommend this size for flowers, herbs, or small succulents to ensure optimal plant health.

Will the petite size cause the soil to dry out too quickly?

Polyethylene is non-porous and provides better moisture retention than traditional terracotta or unsealed concrete. While smaller pots naturally require more frequent watering, the Madrid 300 helps insulate the root ball from extreme temperature fluctuations.

Is the planter safe to place on a glass-topped outdoor table?

Yes. The material is lightweight and the base is finished to be smooth. However, when filled with wet soil, the weight increases significantly. We recommend ensuring your glass table is "tempered" and using a saucer to prevent moisture from being trapped between the pot and the glass.

Can I use the Madrid 300 as an ice bucket for drinks?

Yes. Because the polyethylene is food-safe and 100% water-tight, it makes an excellent, colourful ice bucket for entertaining. The double-walled nature of the material provides a degree of insulation to keep your drinks cold for longer on a summer afternoon.
