We use kiln-dried A-grade teak to minimize tannin leaching. However, new teak can still release oils during the first few heavy rains. We recommend a light wipe-down of the arms after the first few wet days to protect the Sunbrella fabric.
The Mackenzie is a substantial sofa designed for large spaces. We recommend allowing for a total "lounge zone" of 3 metres to ensure you have walking space around the ends. Its length makes it an excellent "anchor" piece for open-plan outdoor living.
The armrests are designed with a small offset to prevent moisture trapping. You can easily clear any debris from this gap using a soft brush or a light blast from a garden hose, ensuring the teak and aluminium stay dry and clean.
The sofa is built with commercial-grade aluminium extrusions and heavy-duty welds. While we don't recommend active jumping, the frame is engineered to handle significant impact and weight loads without structural failure.
