No. The Isla uses high-tenacity, UV-stabilised synthetic rope. The ends are heat-sealed during weaving to prevent fraying. This material is designed to maintain its structural integrity and soft texture even after years of exposure to sun and rain.

Because the rope is non-absorbent, stains generally sit on the surface. We recommend using a soft brush and mild soapy water to agitate the weave. A quick rinse with a garden hose will clear the debris without damaging the internal frame.

Yes. The Isla is designed with a standard dining seat height. This provides the correct ergonomic alignment for dining, ensuring that the armrests and seat height work seamlessly with standard NZ and AU outdoor tables.

While the aluminium frame is lightweight, the open weave of the rope allows wind to pass through the chair rather than catching it. This makes the Isla more wind-resistant than solid-back chairs, although we recommend tucking them under the table during storms.
