Frequently Asked Questions

What is Polyethelene All Weather Rattan?

Polyethylene is a very hard wearing synthetic material, that has a baked in UV inhibitor during the manufacturing process, that enables it to be able to withstand the harsh elements of the New Zealand weather all year round. The Polyethylene used in our furniture is designed to withstand temperatures varying from -70 to +80 degrees Celsius. It is also non-toxic and 100% recyclable too. The frame is a very sturdy powder coated aluminium so will not rust or corrode even if left outside at the beach house all year round.

Could I find cheaper elsewhere?

Yes of course, but beware there is a huge difference between plastic and polyethylene. We all know what plastic does when exposed to the sun. It breaks down and fades and cracks and becomes very brittle, whereas our Polyethelene has the baked in UV inhibitor to prevent any sun fade or damage.

Will the colour fade?

No. Our UV resistant Polyethelene Rattan will not fade even if exposed in the harshest of New Zealand's sun and winter and is guaranteed for 3 years against any fading.

What about the fabric / cushions?

Sunproof fabrics are used on all of our cushions and throw pillows. They are UV resistant, water resistant, chlorine resistant, and are specifically designed for outdoor use. We do however, recommend for prolonging the life of your furniture, that you do store the cushions underneath the setting when not in use. We also provide a free furniture cover for the larger settings to further protect your purchase all year round.
